On October 2, 2024, at the age of 93, Martin Schröder passed away, leaving behind an enduring legacy that forever shaped the aviation industry. Known for his visionary leadership, Schröder’s influence continues to be felt across global air transport.

His journey began in 1958 when he founded Martin’s Air Charter, a small charter airline that evolved into the renowned Martinair. Under his guidance, the company became a major force in both passenger and cargo transportation, reflecting his innovative mindset and entrepreneurial drive.

Schröder was deeply committed to the idea that air travel should be accessible to all, a principle that guided his career.
