The Art of Reinvention: Brandon St-Jacques Turpin’s Evolving Journey

Brandon St-Jacques Turpin

Brandon St-Jacques Turpin’s story doesn’t follow a straight line—it thrives in the pivots. Born and raised in Quebec, Brandon’s early years were defined by talent and discipline. A provincial champion in figure skating as a kid, he later made waves as a college football recruit. But as it turns out, his real stage was waiting elsewhere.

“I was 16 when I got an acting offer for a prime-time Canadian TV show,” Brandon recalls. “That’s when everything changed.”

That decision cracked open the door to a new world—one where storytelling, pressure, and creativity collided. Over the years, Brandon followed his instincts from acting to film production, and then beyond, diving into the intersection of technology and storytelling.

Learning the Industry From the Inside

Acting was more than a phase—it was a launchpad. After time on screen, Brandon turned his focus behind the camera. His first major step was as Head of Production at DEPARTMENT, a creative house with roots in both Paris and Montreal.

“It was there I really started to understand how ideas become real,” he says. “How to build something from scratch—that creative process stuck with me.”

From there, he moved to Los Angeles to join the renowned production company Real by Fake. The stakes were higher, the pace faster.

“I learned how the international film business really works,” Brandon says. “The scale, the pressure, the talent—it was a steep curve, but I loved it.”

From Creative to Tech

After LA, Brandon launched his own production house. But his curiosity didn’t stop at film. He became increasingly fascinated by how technology could support and scale the creative process. That curiosity evolved into action when he began developing AI solutions specifically for the entertainment industry.

“Production teaches you to solve problems fast,” Brandon explains. “Tech gives you the chance to solve them for more people, more efficiently.”

He began exploring how AI could streamline workflows, enhance creativity, and eliminate bottlenecks—not just in media, but wherever complex systems slow people down.

A New Chapter Ahead

While Brandon has been quietly building something new, he’s not quite ready to share the details.

“I can’t say too much yet,” he says with a grin. “But let’s just say it’s in the fintech space.”

What he can share is that everything he’s doing builds on what’s come before: production’s urgency, tech’s scalability, and the ongoing mission to make systems better.

“I’ve seen how bad tools and broken workflows can drag people down—whether in media, tech, or finance,” Brandon says. “I just want to fix the mess.”

A Mindset for Movement

Brandon’s strength is in how he blends worlds. Sports taught him focus. Acting gave him empathy. Production demanded leadership. Technology taught him to think in systems.

“You don’t have to pick one path,” he says. “The best ideas come from weird intersections—sports, art, science, business. I just listen, learn, and build.”

Despite his accomplishments, Brandon keeps it grounded.

“I’ve had great mentors. I’ve failed plenty. But I keep showing up.”

Ask him what he does, and he won’t rattle off titles. He’ll just say, “I build stuff.”

Looking Forward

What’s next? Brandon isn’t rushing to define it.

“I don’t have a fixed 10-year plan,” he says. “Just a compass. If it feels right and helps people, I’ll go there.”

From frozen rinks to film sets, AI tools to finance—Brandon St-Jacques Turpin continues to move, evolve, and create. His path may zigzag, but that’s the point.

Because sometimes the most compelling stories don’t follow a script. They follow curiosity.
