Gurugram’s Wealthiest: Nirmal Kumar Minda Tops the List, Above Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal
Gurugram, home to 23 individuals HNWIs, has its wealthiest resident, and it’s not Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal. Despite his substantial fortune, Goyal holds the second position with $1.1 billion.
The wealthiest person in Gurugram is Nirmal Kumar Minda, Chairman and Managing Director of UNO Minda. Minda’s net worth, standing at an impressive $3.6 billion, is more than three times that of Goyal. Nationally, Minda ranks as the 91st richest person in India.
At 66 years old, Nirmal Kumar Minda leads UNO Minda, an automotive components giant founded by his father, Shadilal Minda, in 1958. After joining the family business in 1977, Minda later branched out on his own in the 1990s, building UNO Minda into a major player in the automotive industry, supplying components for both cars and two-wheelers.
Minda’s wife, Suman Minda, chairs the Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of UNO Minda, furthering the family’s commitment to philanthropy.
Following Minda and Goyal, Varun Alagh and his wife, Ghazal Alagh, founders of Honasa Consumer Ltd., hold the third spot on Gurugram’s rich list. Their brand, Mamaearth, contributed to an estimated net worth of around $0.7 billion in 2024.
In fourth place is Jyoti Bhatia, sister of IndiGo Airlines co-founder Rahul Bhatia, while Ravinder Kumar of Gawar Construction rounds out the top five with a net worth of approximately $0.51 billion.
