Eidesvik Offshore CEO Gitte Gard Talmo Resigns After 22 Years with the Company
Gitte Gard Talmo, the Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian offshore vessel owner Eidesvik Offshore, has announced her resignation after more than two decades with the company. Talmo is stepping down to pursue a new position with an international company abroad.
Eidesvik Offshore confirmed the news in a statement, acknowledging Talmo’s significant contributions during her tenure. Having spent 22 years in various management roles at Eidesvik, Talmo has been at the helm of the company since January 1, 2022, following her promotion from chief commercial officer. She succeeded former CEO Jan Fredrik Meling, who retired at the time.
In reflecting on her leadership, Arne Austreid, the chair of Eidesvik Offshore’s board, praised Talmo’s work. “Gitte has done an excellent job as the CEO of Eidesvik Offshore, and I would like to express my gratitude for her dedication and the results she has achieved during her tenure,” Austreid said. He added that the company remains in a strong financial and strategic position and credited Talmo for helping steer Eidesvik to this point.
Talmo herself expressed confidence in the company’s future, extending her best wishes for its continued success. Eidesvik will now begin its search for a new CEO, while Talmo continues to serve in her current capacity until a successor is appointed.
