Paycom Employees Donate to Boys & Girls Clubs With Back-to-School Initiatives
According to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, 7.7 million kids and teens are alone and unsupervised after school, and nearly 25 million lack access to after-school programs. After-school programs promote positive development, including social, emotional, cognitive and academic development while providing a safe space for young people.
The team at Paycom, a leader in cloud-based human capital management software and model of corporate social responsibility, has witnessed the impact of youth-focused programs through community efforts.
This August, as students prepared to go back to school, employees packed 500 backpacks with school supplies, organized a supply drive for students in Oklahoma and Texas and donated $46,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County and Greater Tarrant County in Fort Worth, Texas through its employee giving program and company dollar-for-dollar match.
Boys & Girls Clubs’ (BGC) mission is to do whatever it takes to give youth, especially underprivileged children, access to experiences and opportunities they need to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. According to their data, 97% of the Clubs’ teen members expect to graduate from high school and 88% expect to complete some kind of post-secondary education.
Paycom has contributed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County–serving more than 15,000 youth–since 2020 and the Greater Tarrant County Clubs–providing resources to over 31,000 youth–since 2021. In 2023, Paycom gave $30,000 and also packed backpacks.
“Too many families struggle to find affordable after-school care,” said Carly Johnson, vice president of development for Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. “Boys & Girls Clubs are dedicated to bridging gaps and creating a positive, productive environment for every kid in need, and we couldn’t do it without organizations like Paycom.”
The donation will help fund quality after-school and summer programs for students in the community.
Charles Franks, manager of talent acquisition at Paycom, said, “Boys & Girls Clubs are an excellent resource for the youth in our communities. The stability and care they provide for students both locally and nationwide inspires our employees to continue supporting their organization.”
Every year, Paycom selects a diverse array of nonprofits to support, allowing employees to contribute to organizations that reflect their personal values. The employee-giving program champions local and national causes, including youth programs, mental health services, support for individuals with disabilities and food assistance for those in need.
