Justin Bieber Performs at Wedding Celebrations for Mukesh Ambani’s Son
Justin Bieber, the famous pop star, entertained some of India’s most notable celebrities during the ongoing wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s wealthiest individual, Mukesh Ambani. The festivities are part of a series of extravagant events leading up to the three-day Hindu ceremony scheduled to begin on July 12, where Anant will marry his childhood friend, Radhika Merchant.
Bieber, 30, who rose to fame as a teenage sensation, arrived in Mumbai from Los Angeles on July 5. He was seen at the airport wearing an oversized pink T-shirt and a bucket hat. Later that night, he performed his 2015 hit “Sorry” at a private concert in Mumbai, attended by hundreds of VIPs. Among the high-profile guests were Bollywood star Salman Khan and former India cricket captain M.S. Dhoni. Reports suggest Bieber was paid up to $10 million for his performance.
The Ambani-Merchant celebrations have featured numerous high-profile events. In February, a three-day gala in Gujarat included a performance by Rihanna, her first since the 2023 Super Bowl, with guests such as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Ivanka Trump in attendance. In June, the couple hosted a four-day Mediterranean cruise featuring a masquerade ball at a French chateau in Cannes, where Katy Perry performed. Other entertainers included the Backstreet Boys, US rapper Pitbull, and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
Mukesh Ambani, known for hosting lavish weddings, previously organized India’s most expensive wedding for his daughter in 2018, reportedly costing $100 million and featuring a performance by US singer Beyoncé.
