Euroleague Basketball Extends Leadership Appointments and Approves Key Decisions
Euroleague Basketball has confirmed the extension of Dejan Bodiroga as president and Paulius Motiejunas as CEO, each for an additional four years, following a unanimous decision by the Board of Directors and subsequent approval by the Euroleague Commercial Assets (ECA) Shareholders on Thursday.
Bodiroga, who took on the role of president in September 2022, and Motiejunas, appointed as CEO in June 2023, will continue to lead Euroleague Basketball through this extended term.
The ECA Shareholders also ratified several crucial elements for the upcoming 2024-25 season. They approved the competition bylaws, finalized the list of participating teams, and set the schedule for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup.
Additionally, the shareholders approved the financial report for the 2023-24 season and introduced new regulations under the Financial Stability & Fair Play framework.
Director of Officiating Daniel Hierrezuelo presented a comprehensive report on the officiating performance during the 2023-24 season. His report included recommendations for improvements in refereeing recruitment, education, monitoring, and technology protocols.
According to the press release, the ECA Shareholders reached the following decisions:

- Confirmed the four-year appointment extensions of Euroleague Basketball President Dejan Bodiroga and CEO Paulius Motiejunas.
- Approved the competition bylaws for the 2024-25 season.Approved the lists of participating teams for the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup, along with the season calendar.
- Approved the financial report for the 2023-24 season.
- Approved new rules under the Financial Stability & Fair Play Regulations.
- Reviewed an officiating report for the 2023-24 season presented by Director of Officiating Daniel Hierrezuelo, which included proposed enhancements for officiating recruitment, education, monitoring, and technology protocols.
