Prem Prabhakar Named CEO and MD of SBICAP Ventures
SBICAP Ventures Limited (SVL), a leading alternative asset management company with assets under management of approximately $3.9 billion, has announced the appointment of Prem Prabhakar as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 4, 2024. In addition to Prabhakar’s appointment, SVL announced the launch of its latest fund, the TDC Fund, in April this year.
Prabhakar brings over 24 years of extensive banking experience to SVL. Prior to this appointment, he served as General Manager at the State Bank of India (SBI). His distinguished career includes roles as Deputy General Manager (B & O) overseeing retail business and operations, Chief Dealer (Forex) at SBI Global Markets in Mumbai, and Chief Dealer at SBI New York. Additionally, he was a Director on the board of Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank, a Regional Rural Bank. Prabhakar’s expertise spans treasury operations with over 12 years of experience in forex, money markets, derivatives, resource management, ALM, and risk management.
In this role, Prabhakar will be responsible for guiding the company’s strategic direction, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering overall growth. He will lead the executive team, manage investor relations, and spearhead initiatives aligned with SVL’s mission to create long-term value for investors and support the communities it serves.
