Rob Wallace Becomes CEO of EET Hydrogen Power
EET Fuels has announced the appointment of Rob Wallace as Chief Executive Officer of EET Hydrogen Power, a groundbreaking hydrogen-ready combined heat and power plant (CHP). With 25 years of experience in the Energy and Utilities Industry, including tenure at industry giants such as Shell and Centrica, Wallace brings his expertise to the new role, having most recently served at Irish electricity company ESB.
During his tenure at ESB, Wallace played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s Net Zero 2040 strategy as Hydrogen Manager, overseeing asset commissioning and driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions. As CEO of EET Hydrogen Power, Wallace will spearhead the construction and operation of the CHP plant, a cornerstone of EET’s ambitious vision to establish an energy transition hub in the North West region.
The EET Hydrogen Power project is poised to significantly reduce emissions at Stanlow, with initial projections indicating a 13% decrease in carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to 180,000 tonnes annually. Upon transitioning to EET Hydrogen, emissions are expected to plummet further by 740,000 tonnes, akin to removing 350,000 cars from the road—an extraordinary feat in the pursuit of environmental sustainability.
Rob Wallace’s appointment as CEO of EET Hydrogen Power underscores EET Fuels’ steadfast commitment to decarbonization and innovation. His leadership, coupled with EET’s previous initiatives, such as the $56 million hydrogen-ready furnace under construction at Stanlow, positions the company at the forefront of the UK’s transition to a sustainable energy future.
Tony Fountain, CEO of EET, extends a warm welcome to Wallace, emphasizing his expertise in hydrogen and power development as invaluable assets for advancing EET’s ambitious decarbonization agenda. Wallace’s appointment marks a significant milestone in EET Fuels’ journey towards decarbonization, heralding a new era of sustainable energy leadership in the UK.
