Leadership Transition at IGM Resins: Boudewijn Morelissen Named as CEO

IGM Resins has announced the appointment of Boudewijn Morelissen as its new CEO, effective February 1, 2024. Morelissen assumes the position following Wilfrid Gambade, who served as CEO of IGM Resins since 2021 and will now transition to an advisory role on the Board of Directors.

Morelissen brings extensive experience to his new role, having previously served as CEO of Vilofoss at DLG, a Danish conglomerate. His background includes leadership roles at prominent companies such as Cargill, DSM, and Owens Corning. Morelissen’s strategic vision and development skills are expected to drive IGM Resins forward.

John Huiberts, founder of IGM Resins and current Chairman of the Board, expressed gratitude for Gambade’s significant contributions during his tenure. Gambade’s leadership saw the introduction of a new strategic roadmap, “Go Grow Green,” and the implementation of operational improvements, laying a robust foundation for the company’s future successes.

The strategic initiatives under Gambade’s leadership included the acquisition of Litian and a partnership with Qualipoly, aimed at enhancing IGM Resins’ product and solutions offering in the UV curing industry. Additionally, there was an acceleration of innovation roll-out, increased focus on sustainability, and optimization of production footprint, including the establishment of a state-of-the-art production facility in China.

Commenting on the transition, Nicolas Marien, Partner at Astorg, the majority shareholder of IGM Resins, affirmed the company’s global market leadership in energy curing resins. Marien emphasized Astorg’s commitment to supporting IGM Resins’ long-term growth and welcomed Morelissen’s appointment as a seasoned industry executive poised to execute the company’s development plan.

With a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Morelissen is well-equipped to lead IGM Resins into its next phase of growth and innovation.
