Western Bulk Chartering AS Appoints Ørjan Svanevik as Interim CEO
The Board of Directors of Western Bulk Chartering AS (Western Bulk, OSE: WEST) has announced the appointment of Board member Ørjan Svanevik as interim Chief Executive Officer. Svanevik, who has served as a Board member since August 2023, will concurrently hold the position of director alongside his role as interim CEO.
Following the stock exchange notice on February 15, 2024, regarding the resignation of Hans Aasnæs from the CEO position at Western Bulk, the Board has swiftly acted to appoint Ørjan Svanevik as the interim CEO with immediate effect. The Board has also initiated the process of selecting a permanent CEO.
Western Bulk Chartering AS stands as a prominent operator in the dry bulk shipping sector, with ownership distributed among the Kistefos Group (68.7%), Sayonara AS (formerly Ojada AS) (8.3%), and approximately 1200 other shareholders. The company is listed on Euronext Growth Oslo.
