BLG Logistics, a prominent player in the logistics industry, is set for a leadership transition as Chairman of the Board, Frank Dreeke, prepares to step down after twelve years of dedicated service. The company’s supervisory board has unanimously selected Matthias Magnor, currently a member of the Board of Management and Chief Operating Officer of the BLG Group, to assume the role of CEO effective January 1, 2025.
Magnor’s appointment heralds a new era for BLG Logistics, as he brings a wealth of experience and a profound understanding of the company’s operations. Having served as COO since 2021, Magnor has played a pivotal role in steering BLG’s operational areas through successful transformations over the past three years.
Klaus Meier, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Bremer Lagerhaus-Gesellschaft, expressed satisfaction with the appointment, citing Magnor’s intimate knowledge of the company and his demonstrated leadership capabilities. Looking ahead, Meier expressed optimism about the company’s future and the continued collaboration between Dreeke and BLG during the transition period.
In response to his new role, Matthias Magnor conveyed his appreciation and pride, underscoring his commitment to steering BLG Logistics toward continued growth and development. With a background encompassing supply chain management, logistics, services, and trade, Magnor is poised to lead BLG through its next phase of evolution.
Outgoing CEO Frank Dreeke commended Magnor as his successor, expressing confidence in the future of BLG Logistics under his stewardship. Dreeke, a pivotal figure in BLG’s history, cited reaching the standard age limit for board members as the reason for his departure, in line with the company’s governance principles.
