TransferGo Appoints Simon McFeely as Chief Compliance Officer

TransferGo has named Simon McFeely as its new Chief Compliance Officer, effective February 2024. Based in the UK, TransferGo sees McFeely’s appointment as part of its strategy to spearhead rapid global expansion and strengthen its presence in existing markets.

Since its establishment in 2012, TransferGo has provided a digital platform enabling consumers and businesses to send and receive money across multiple currencies to 160 countries worldwide. With over 7 million customers served, TransferGo operates from offices in London and Vilnius.

McFeely’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the compliance and risk management framework is scalable, leveraging his over 10 years of experience in compliance and risk management. This appointment follows TransferGo’s €310,000 fine by the Bank of Lithuania last August for alleged violations of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing laws.

McFeely joins TransferGo from TransferMate Global Payments, where he served as Global Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for the past three years. Prior to this, he held similar roles at Western Union, where he also focused on cross-border payments and business solutions.

Daumantas Dvilinskas, CEO and co-founder of TransferGo, views McFeely’s appointment as a significant milestone in their journey, as they aim to expand rapidly into new markets in Asia, Africa, and South America. Dvilinskas emphasized McFeely’s expertise and vision aligning with the company’s aspirations to innovate and grow while serving the needs of their customers.
