Daimler Truck Appoints Siemens’ Executive Eva Scherer to Assume the Role of CFO

Siemens’ seasoned financial executive, Eva Scherer, renowned for her dedication to sustainability, is now steering her expertise toward Daimler Truck Holding, a prominent player in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, as its Chief Financial Officer. Commencing her role on April 1, Scherer assumes the responsibilities formerly held by Jochen Goetz, who tragically passed away in August. In her new position, she oversees finance and control on the executive board.

In her recent role as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Investor Relations, Scherer further demonstrated her financial acumen. Emphasizing her dedication to sustainable transportation, she expressed her commitment to contributing to the clean energy agenda at Daimler in a new capacity.

As a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, Scherer played a pivotal role in developing the Alliance for Clean Air, a collaborative effort among multinationals focused on improving air quality. In her capacity as CFO at Daimler, she is expected to continue contributing to the company’s strategic vision for at least three years through March 2027.

Daimler CEO Martin Daum, who temporarily took on the CFO role after Goetz’s demise, commended Scherer’s extensive financial experience and commitment to sustainability. With over two decades of leadership roles at Siemens, where she notably established a Middle East/Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore for Siemens’ building technologies division, Scherer brings a wealth of expertise to Daimler.
