TSTT Names Gerard Cooper as Acting CFO

Gerard Cooper has assumed the role of acting Chief Financial Officer at the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd (TSTT), effective January 26. Cooper previously served as TSTT’s CFO for over six years before transitioning to the position of General Manager of Operations and Administration.
Cooper held the CFO position at TSTT from August 2012 to February 2019. His appointment as acting CFO comes in the wake of the organization terminating the contract of Shiva Ramnarine, the previous CFO, on January 5.
This appointment is part of a broader leadership restructuring at TSTT, where both the CFO and CEO positions have seen acting appointments within a span of less than three months. Shiva Ramnarine, who became TSTT’s CFO on October 1, 2019, had his contract terminated abruptly on January 5. Prior to that, on November 14, Lisa Agard was dismissed as TSTT’s CFO with immediate effect.
After being appointed CEO on May 24, 2021, Lisa Agard had previously served in an acting capacity from September 23, 2020. Her dismissal followed criticism related to TSTT’s handling of communication following a cyberattack on October 9.
