RaceTrac Appoints Natalie Morhous to Serve as CEO
Natalie Morhous has been appointed as the new CEO of RaceTrac Inc., effective January 2nd, succeeding Max McBrayer, who previously held the position. The company, headquartered in Atlanta, operates nearly 800 retail locations across 13 states, employing over 10,500 team members.
Morhous, who served as the president, and McBrayer, as CEO since 2019, collaborated closely in steering RaceTrac’s business strategies, including navigating the challenges posed by the global pandemic. Together, they orchestrated RaceTrac’s expansion into new markets and prototypes and successfully oversaw the acquisition of Gulf Oil, marking significant milestones for the company.
Max Lenker, a RaceTrac board director, expressed confidence in Morhous’ ability to lead the company to greater success, citing her commitment to RaceTrac’s core principles, including prioritizing people, fostering a strong performance culture, and embracing a passionate and fun-filled approach.
Acknowledging McBrayer’s contributions during his 32-plus years with RaceTrac, Lenker commended his leadership, stating that it has positioned the company well for the future. McBrayer’s journey within RaceTrac, starting from his tenure at The Ethanol Corp. in 1991 to his recent role as CEO, has been marked by significant achievements, including RaceTrac’s recognition as No. 18 on Forbes America’s Largest Private Companies list.
Expressing her honor and anticipation in taking on the CEO role, Morhous highlighted her commitment to the company’s workforce and customers. She thanked McBrayer for his mentorship and expressed confidence in the established strategies and the dedicated team in place.
Morhous reflected on her journey at RaceTrac since 2012 and the considerable growth witnessed during her tenure. She expressed gratitude to the team and the board for their unwavering support.
