Serhat Sogukpinar Becomes CEO at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport
A Turkey-based IC Holding executive, Serhat Sogukpinar, has been named the Chief Executive of Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airport following a collaboration agreement between Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB.KL) and IC Holding.
Sogukpinar, with prior experience overseeing airport operations in Turkey’s Antalya and Ankara, spearheaded various projects both domestically and internationally during his tenure at IC Holding, as per the statement.
The groups announced a strategic cooperation deal aimed at fostering long-term joint investment opportunities and potentially expanding IC Holding’s presence in Asia.
Sabiha Gokcen airport, serving as the hub for Pegasus Airlines (PGSUS.IS) and Turkish Airlines’ low-cost brand Ajet, ranks as Turkey’s third busiest airport, trailing Istanbul Airport and the southern Antalya airport. The inauguration of the airport’s second runway on Monday is anticipated to double the annual passenger capacity to over 85 million.
