Ellen Louw Joins Cushon to Assume the Role of CFO
Cushon, a workplace pension and savings fintech, has announced the appointment of Ellen Louw as its Chief Financial Officer, adding strength to its senior leadership team.
In her capacity as Chief Financial Officer, Louw is entrusted with steering Cushon’s growth trajectory and overseeing the company’s financial strategies.
Louw’s arrival coincides with Cushon’s ongoing growth and transformation following its acquisition by NatWest Group earlier this year.
Louw arrives from commercial news publisher Reach plc, where she served as the Commercial Finance Director. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in embedding the Customer Value Strategy and significantly expanding the registered customer base.
Before her role at Reach plc, Louw was the Head of Commercial Finance and Corporate Development at money transfer fintech WorldRemit, a part of Zepz Group. Her career also includes significant senior finance roles across 11 years at American Express.
Cushon’s major milestones in 2023 included NatWest Group’s majority stake acquisition, paving the way for accelerated growth strategies, ongoing investments, and significant expansions across product, engineering, and growth teams.
Additionally, the Cushon Master Trust unveiled its goal to achieve an 80% reduction in scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions financed by the default fund of its Defined Contribution (DC) pension offering by September 2030, compared to an independently verified industry benchmark.
Moreover, in November, the fintech became a signatory to the Mansion House Compact, committing to allocate at least 5% of default funds to unlisted equities by 2030, marking another step toward its sustainability and growth objectives.
Ben Pollard, the founder and CEO of Cushon, expressed confidence in Louw’s appointment, while Louw shared her enthusiasm for joining Cushon.
