RTX COO Christopher Calio Succeeds Current CEO, Gregory Hayes
On Thursday, RTX Corp (RTX.N) announced that Christopher Calio, currently serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, is set to take over as the new CEO of the aerospace and defense firm, succeeding Gregory Hayes.
At 50 years old, Calio assumed the role of COO in March 2022, leading the company through a restructuring phase that organized RTX into three distinct business units: Raytheon, Pratt & Whitney, and Collins Aerospace.
During Hayes’ tenure, RTX, formerly known as Raytheon, attained the status of the world’s largest defense company by revenue subsequent to its 2020 merger with United Technologies Corp. The conglomerate reported a sales figure of $67 billion for the last fiscal year.
