Allianz SE has announced the appointment of Nina Klingspor, the current CEO of Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG (APKV), Allianz’s private health insurance business in Germany, as the upcoming Chief Executive Officer of Central Europe for Allianz Group. This appointment is pending approval by the relevant corporate bodies.
Klingspor will succeed Petros Papanikolaou, who is set to become the new CEO of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), with added responsibility for leading Allianz Commercial globally, subject to regulatory approval. Both transitions will take effect from January 1, 2024.
Having joined APKV in 2019, Klingspor has been instrumental in developing a successful strategy and fostering a positive culture that has yielded commendable financial outcomes for the business.
Her position at APKV will be assumed by Jan Esser, pending approval by the pertinent corporate bodies. Prior to leading APKV, Klingspor served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at AGCS for four years. Additionally, she was previously the Head of Office for Allianz SE CEO Michael Diekmann from 2012 to 2015.
Her professional journey began at Landesbank Baden Württemberg (LBBW), where she worked in both Stuttgart and Beijing. During her tenure at LBBW, she managed credit risk for Asian financial institutions and played a pivotal role in establishing LBBW’s German Center Beijing.
Klingspor commenced her tenure at Allianz in 2000 as the Chief of Staff to the CEO of Allianz Global Investors, later holding various roles, including Head of Marketing and Head of Third-Party Distribution in Germany.
Klaus-Peter Roehler, Member of the Allianz SE Board of Management, praised Petros for his exceptional contributions to Allianz Central Europe, acknowledging his successful establishment of the regional entity and transformative leadership.
Regarding Klingspor’s appointment, Roehler expressed confidence in her ability to lead the Central European region, citing her strong sales acumen, financial expertise, technical proficiency, teamwork, and overall leadership qualities. He highlighted her potential as a robust leader for the region based on her skill set and personality.
