New York Mets Brings Scott Havens from Bloomberg to Assume the role of President
Scott Havens, previously the CEO of Bloomberg Media, is transitioning from his role at the media powerhouse to become the team President for the New York Mets.
In an announcement on Monday, the team revealed Havens’s appointment as their President of business operations. In his new capacity, Havens will supervise the day-to-day activities of the team’s business department and the Senior Leadership Team for all non-baseball operations.
Havens will directly report to Steve Cohen, the team’s owner. Cohen, along with Alex Cohen, expressed their enthusiasm for Havens joining the Mets, highlighting his extensive experience leading renowned media and digital technology-focused companies such as Bloomberg Media and Time Inc. They anticipate Havens to provide a forward-thinking vision and strategic direction for the organization.
In a personal statement, Havens expressed his delight at fulfilling a lifelong dream by joining the Mets organization. He looks forward to leveraging ongoing initiatives and advancing strategies to modernize the organization, drive digital and media innovation, and enhance the fan experience.
Having served as Bloomberg Media’s Chief Executive for the past eight years, Havens previously held significant roles at other prominent news organizations like The Atlantic and Conde Nast Business Media, which owns publications like Vogue, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker.
