WSP USA President and CEO Lou Cornell Resigns from his Role
According to an announcement of WSP last week, USA President and CEO Lou Cornell is set to retire next year. Cornell will maintain oversight of the U.S. business until his retirement in 2024, and the company has initiated a search for his successor.
Cornell joined WSP in 2019, following a five-year tenure as a senior executive with the Buildings and Infrastructure Americas group at Dallas-based contractor Jacobs. Prior to that, he served as the senior vice president and California District Director of Operations for AECOM, also headquartered in Dallas.
With over 30 years of comprehensive experience in design and management within the engineering, environmental, architectural, and construction industry, according to his LinkedIn profile, Cornell holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
In the third quarter of this year, WSP reported positive figures in earnings, revenue, and backlog, as outlined in its recent earnings report. Revenues experienced growth across all reportable segments, and the global construction and engineering giant is capitalizing on various government stimulus initiatives, according to CEO Alexandre L’Heureux.
