U.S. Sugar Promotes Kenneth McDuffie to the role of President and CEO
Kenneth W. McDuffie has been appointed as the President and CEO of U.S. Sugar, taking over from Robert H. Burke, Jr. McDuffie’s most recent position at the company was Executive Vice President, a role he has held since 2021. In this capacity, McDuffie worked closely with the former President and CEO, overseeing strategic and political matters, as well as the company’s agricultural operations, which encompass citrus agriculture, research, railroad operations, locally grown vegetables from Rouge River Farms, and industry grower relations.
Before serving as Executive Vice President, McDuffie held the position of Senior Vice President of Agricultural Operations from 2005 to 2021. He has a long history with U.S. Sugar, having joined the company in 1992, starting as a farm assistant. According to U.S. Sugar, McDuffie played a pivotal role in modernizing the company’s agricultural operations and establishing one of the most technologically advanced and productive harvesting fleets in the United States.
Ridgway White, the Chairman of the board of directors for U.S. Sugar, expressed his confidence in McDuffie’s leadership, stating, “Given Ken’s decades of experience leading efforts to modernize U.S. Sugar’s farming and technological infrastructure, there is no better choice to lead our growing company into the future. Under Ken’s leadership, U.S. Sugar’s agricultural operations department has become one of the most efficient, sustainable, and productive departments at any agricultural company in the world. Our company is incredibly fortunate to have him at the helm.”
