Frontier Shuffles the Cards and Restructures the Leadership Team

Frontier Group Holdings has appointed its longtime Chief Financial Officer, James Dempsey, as the President of the company. The parent company of Denver-based Frontier Airlines made this announcement on October 19th. Dempsey will transition into his new role as President, and the current Chief Accounting Officer, Mark Mitchell, will take over as the CFO.

Both Dempsey and Mitchell will report directly to Chief Executive Barry Biffle, who praised their long-standing contributions to Frontier’s senior leadership team spanning over eight years. Dempsey assumed the position of CFO in 2014, and Mitchell joined the ultra-low-cost carrier in 2015.

Barry Biffle has been serving as the President and CEO of Frontier since 2016, although the company did not specify any changes to his role.

In his new role, Dempsey will have oversight over the commercial, customer care (including contact centers and customer relations), and operations research, design, and planning functions within the airline.

Frontier also introduced Rajat Khanna, previously Vice President of Technology at Lowe’s Companies, as the Chief Information Officer and named Matthew Saks, formerly a Vice President of Airline Marketing at Airbus, as the Treasurer.

Last month, Frontier revised its capacity forecast for the third quarter due to decreased demand for domestic leisure travel in the United States. The company is set to release its third-quarter results on October 26.
