CEO at Giorgio Armani Japan Izumi Sasano Becomes Responsible for US, Canada, Mexico & Brazil

Giorgio Armani has officially appointed Izumi Sasano as the new Chief Executive Officer of Giorgio Armani Corporation, with his tenure commencing on December 1. Sasano, who previously held the position of CEO at Giorgio Armani Japan for nearly two decades, will now have the responsibility of overseeing operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. He is taking over from Gaetano Sciuto, who recently assumed the role of CEO at Maison Margiela in Paris after joining Armani in 2019.

Armani has stressed the significance of fostering long-term relationships and loyalty within the company, underscoring the values of recognizing hard work, competence, and personal growth within the organization. Armani has expressed strong confidence in Sasano’s qualifications, highlighting his remarkable success in Japan and the broader Pacific region, as well as the unique cultural perspective he will bring to his new position.

Sasano will continue to report to Giuseppe Marsocci, who serves as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer of the Armani Group. In his new role, Sasano will oversee the General Managers of Mexico and Brazil, as well as the executives of Giorgio Armani Corporation. Currently, under Sasano’s leadership, there are a total of 314 directly operated stores in the four markets.

The Armani Group has reported robust financial performance over the past year, with revenues reaching $ 2.47 billion and a remarkable 19.5 percent increase in sales in America. Armani, who holds multiple key positions within the organization, including Chairman, CEO, and Creative Director, has expressed his pride in maintaining the group’s independence and financial stability.

In addition to Sasano’s appointment, Armani has made significant strides in the United States. Emporio Armani has returned to Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood with a flagship store, while A|X Armani Exchange has opened a new flagship store in the same area. The group is also actively engaged in major projects, including the redevelopment of its Madison Avenue store in Manhattan and the completion of the 260 Residences by Armani/Casa in Miami.
