TrueBlue Promotes Carl Schweihs to CFO

TrueBlue Inc. (NYSE: TBI) has announced the promotion of Carl Schweihs to the position of CFO, effective from October 30. Schweihs will succeed Derrek Gafford as CFO, who is leaving the company after nearly 20 years to explore other opportunities. This move follows TrueBlue’s earlier announcement on August 15, where Taryn Owen was promoted to the role of president and CEO.

Derrek Gafford will continue to serve the company in an advisory capacity through the end of the year.

Carl Schweihs originally joined TrueBlue as a part of its acquisition of Seaton in 2014 and currently holds the position of President and COO of the company’s people management division. Before his tenure at TrueBlue, Schweihs held various leadership positions at Seaton and Grant Thornton.

Derrek Gafford has served as the CFO since 2005, having joined the company in 2002, as per regulatory filings. Before his time at TrueBlue, he held the position of CFO at the grocery retailer Metropolitan Market and had management roles at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Albertsons Inc.

In conjunction with Carl Schweihs’ appointment as CFO, Jerry Wimer has been promoted to the role of General Manager of PeopleManagement’s on-site staffing business. Additionally, Wimer will serve as the acting President of PeopleManagement. Jerry Wimer has been with TrueBlue since the acquisition of Seaton, most recently holding the role of General Manager and Senior VP of Global Operations for Staff Management.
