Soren Bjorn will be Driscoll’s new CEO following Miles Reiter’s Retirement

Driscoll’s has announced the appointment of Soren Bjorn as the new CEO. Bjorn, who is currently the President of Driscoll’s of the Americas, will take on this role in January 2024 and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations on a global scale.

Miles Reiter, the current Chairman and CEO of Driscoll’s, has disclosed his intention to retire by the end of the year and transition into the role of executive chairman within the family-owned company.

Bjorn has been a part of Driscoll’s team since 2006, amassing 17 years of experience in various aspects of the business. He has served as the former senior Vice President of international business and global technologies, leading business development efforts in Europe, South America, and Australia, as well as overseeing global research and development (R&D) and breeding. In 2013, he assumed leadership of Driscoll’s business unit in North America and was subsequently promoted to his current position as president of Driscoll’s of the Americas in 2017.

As the incoming CEO, Bjorn’s primary objectives are to maintain the company’s thriving corporate culture and continue to drive its global expansion. Additionally, he will guide the company’s endeavors to adopt new technologies that enhance operational efficiencies and ensure resilience against industry-wide challenges such as climate change.

Miles Reiter, a seasoned figure in the berry business for the past seven decades, began his involvement in the industry in the 1970s as a berry grower in California’s Pajaro Valley. He was elected chairman of the board of directors in 1988 and has served as the company’s CEO twice, first from 2000 to 2015 and then again from 2018 to the present.
