Education Perfect

Education Perfect, a prominent player in the EdTech sector, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Morgan as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Jonathan Morgan brings to the forefront an impressive 24 years of experience, excelling in operational business roles. Furthermore, he brings a wealth of expertise in leading and fostering the growth of Software as a Service (SaaS) companies.

Prior to his current role, Morgan served as the Chief Growth Officer at Symend, a SaaS firm specializing in consumer behavior analytics. His leadership skills were prominently demonstrated during his more than a decade-long tenure at OpenMarket, a cloud-based mobile messaging company, where he eventually rose to the position of CEO.

Notably, Morgan’s professional journey spans pivotal roles in global engineering, technology, and marketing sectors, covering geographical regions including Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Commenting on the recent appointment, Helen Souness, Board Chair at Education Perfect, expressed her enthusiasm. “After an extensive global search for our new CEO, we were thrilled to meet Jonathan, a seasoned software as a service leader with experience growing companies, as well as leading highly engaged geographically dispersed teams.” She further highlighted Mr. Morgan’s alignment with the organization’s ethos, noting his resonance with the teacher community and the objective of enhancing the learning outcomes for K-12 students. Ms Souness expressed her anticipation, stating, “We are thrilled to see him step in to lead Education Perfect through our next stage of growth and global scale.”

Mr. Morgan, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and highlighting his personal connection to the educational sector, stated, “I have a nine-year-old and a twelve-year-old in school, and my wife works in education as well. Working to improve education and make it more equitable for all is a natural next step for me.”

George Aitken, Managing Director at global investment firm KKR & Co. Inc. (also known as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.) said that Jonathan was the ideal fit to bring the organisation into its next period of growth. “We believe that Jonathan is the ideal leader to elevate Education Perfect into its next phase given his demonstrated track record of supporting fast-growing SaaS businesses, extensive international experience, and his passion for education.”

“Jonathan is committed to driving innovation on behalf of the teachers and students who the company serves. We are pleased to welcome a leader of Jonathan’s calibre to Education Perfect and wish him the best during this exciting time for the company,” Mr Aitken said.

Education Perfect has already established itself as a leading learning, assessment, and analytics platform in Australia and New Zealand. With its sights set on a broader global horizon, the platform currently serves more than 5,000 schools and reaches approximately 1.8 million students worldwide. An impressive 98% of teachers acknowledge that Education Perfect’s tools are tailored to cater to the diverse needs of individual students, ensuring both time efficiency for educators and improved learning outcomes for pupils.
