Todd Solash is the new President and Deputy CEO of Athora
Michele Bareggi from Athora Holding Ltd. will be stepping down from his position as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President on September 18, 2023, following a dedicated six-year tenure.
To succeed Bareggi, Todd Solash has been chosen and is set to assume the role on October 9, 2023, subject to the necessary approvals. Solash boasts over 25 years of extensive experience within the retirement, annuity, and life insurance sectors. Before this appointment, he held the position of President and CEO of Life Insurance and Individual Retirement at Corebridge Financial.
Mike Wells, Group CEO of Athora, expressed gratitude towards Michele for his dedication and contributions to Athora over the past six years. He acknowledged Bareggi’s pivotal role in establishing Athora as a significant and reputable player in the European market, thereby setting the stage for the company’s forthcoming expansion. Wells also extended a warm welcome to Todd Solash, highlighting his substantial operational experience and successful track record in nurturing businesses that provide appealing savings and retirement solutions to their clientele.
Bareggi has been a part of Athora since its inception in 2018, steering the Group through a period of substantial growth that encompassed expansion into Belgium, Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands. During his tenure, Assets under Management and Administration witnessed remarkable growth, surging from €5 billion to over €90 billion (pro forma for the signed transaction with AXA Germany, which remains subject to regulatory approval). Bareggi also played a crucial role in securing approximately €6.75 billion of equity capital for Athora since its inception.
