10 Things to Know About Dubai Airport

Dubai Airport

Dubai is quite fascinating for people living in any corner of the world, but do you know Dubai International Airport is also a significant attraction for travelers? So, here are ten things to know about Dubai Airport which will surely amaze you.

  1. World’s fastest-growing aviation hub
If we talk of 2022, Dubai Airport registered 66 million passengers, and it has forecasted the number to be increased to 83.6 million by the end of 2023.
Not only this, but the authorities also provide good services and modern infrastructure and also manage connections between over 250 destinations globally. Being a transit zone for over 100 airlines, it has to offer the best lounges and all the modern facilities too.
  2. The biggest duty-free store
The whole city is full of shopaholics, and the airport is no exception. It features numerous duty-free stores that provide top-notch products like gold jewelry, fashion brands, cosmetic products, electronics, sunglasses, books, liquor, pharmacy, tobacco, watches, confectionaries, and many more. This is also a fantastic thing to do during your layover.

  3. Five-star hotel
The best time to avail of this facility is when you are worn out due to a long flight and need rest. The Dubai International Hotel is located at Terminal 1. It offers luxurious facilities, including a conference hall, restaurants, and a swimming pool.
The airport also has the Snooze Cube Hotel, which has tiny rooms in Terminal 1 itself. One can avail of the facilities of shower, wifi, and even a few hours of sleep for a nominal amount of 16 dollars or so. The staff will take care of waking you up before your next flight.

  4. Central hub for numerous airlines
The airport is the central hub for FlyDubai, Qantas, and Emirates Airlines. Emirates has always been people’s favorite for obvious reasons, and it is one of the best passenger airlines. Terminal 3 features the Emirates business class lounge, a wholesome entertainment package. This terminal truly dedicates its services to the airlines for the comfort of the passengers.

  5. Huge enough to house the A380 aircraft
The Concourse A of Terminal 3 undertakes the task of housing the huge Airbus A380 aircraft. That means it is capable of the fluent boarding of over 800 passengers. For flawless connectivity of Concourse A to the other parts of the building, the airport has underground trains and tunnels, which in itself is innovative.

  6. Its Zen Gardens blow everyone’s mind
The airport also features mesmerizing Zen Garden, which is a heavenly escape from the airport’s hustle. It’s perfect for those who love to be in nature and are willing to give their eyes and body a visual treat.
The Zen Gardens at Terminal 3 have lush green trees, a beautiful fish pond, and many benches to sit and relax on. If you have kids along with you, you need not worry about their entertainment, too; the play area will keep them engaged throughout your layover. It is near Gates B7 and B27 in Terminal 3.

  7. Provides the Fastest Wifi
People have become highly addicted to the Internet in the previous decade; they want the Internet wherever they go. Hence, they can spend hours if they get free high-speed wifi at the airport.
The wifi at the Dubai Airport is the fastest in the world. Just connect to “DXB Free WIFI’ or ‘DWC Free WIFI’ networks to get access. It is generally unlimited, but if the traffic is too high, limited access is given to the passengers. In that case, they can buy an unlimited daily pass at around 8 dollars.

  8. A plethora of Entertainment Facilities
Apart from the aforementioned Zen Gardens, the airport provides n number of entertainment facilities. Take a free shower to relax, go for a massage or sauna to the steam rooms, watch the cinemas, or just hit the gym if you love dropping a sweat. If you are into swimming, a swimming pool would also allure you. If nothing works, go for some shopping options.

  9. Features smart gates
The DXB airport also has smart gates to manage heavy passenger traffic. This eases the most challenging task of the airport to a great extent. If the airlines arrive and depart fluently and timely, it’s not an issue, but if there is any delay or cancellations, traffic may become unmanageable. This crisis can be handled well with the help of smart gates. The residents of the UAE can enter the smart gates using their Emirates ID, hence, avoiding long queues.

  10. More than 90k Employees Working
Tourism is booming like anything in the city. Since this airport is the busiest in the world, it has to employ a huge number of people to handle the traffic. Along with international passengers, cargo flights are also seen in good numbers lately. This is anticipated to be the largest airport in the world.
