Investor 1 Visa Category
The two main categories, which include Investor 1 Visa, give you the option of investing in properties like commercial and residential, along with that high growth investment which includes government bonds. Criteria of the Investor 1 Visa category are that you need an investment of NZ $10,000,000 for three years, there is no maximum age limit, no requirement for the English language, a minimum stay of 88 days over three years, and it has no annual quota.
Investor 2 Visa Category
In the Investor 2 Visa category, you will have to fulfill certain criteria that the government states; some of those are that you have to invest NZ$3,000,000 for four years, your maximum age can be 66, the English language is required, minimum stay must be 438 days over four years. If you cover all the mentioned criteria, then only you can get an Investor 2 Visa. It has an annual quota of 400 applicants.
What Are The Accepted Investments?
If you are interested in either of the two visa categories, you should know which the accepted investments are. The accepted investments can be Equity in NZ firms which can be public or private, bonds that are issued by the NZ government, new residential properties, and up to 15% of investment in total. Other than this, you should be capable of returning the commercial under normal circumstances; you should have the potential to contribute to New Zealand, etc.
What Investment Funds Can You Use?
You can first nominate either a mix of funds or assets for investment. The investment should be equal to a minimum of NZ $3 million for investors or NZ $10 million for investors plus. You must show proper evidence of the funds that you are showing. The invested funds must be unencumbered, that have been earned or acquired legally, should be transferable through the banking systems, etc.
What Happens When The Residency Is Approved?
Regardless of the category you choose, you will have at least 12 months to transfer your investment funds to an acceptable investment. You should also show verified documents that you would be transferring to New Zealand from the funds/assets that you have nominated. You must apply for a visa within this timeframe for a work visa in terms you have to travel to New Zealand to find better investment opportunities.
Approved Residency
For those under the investor plus category, you would be investing funds, and those have to accept investments in three years. You must spend at least 44 days in New Zealand each year for two years and three of your investment year period or over 88 days over the three-year investment period. Under the investor category, you will have to keep funds in an acceptable investment for four years. You must spend 146 days every year in New Zealand in two, three, and four of your four-year investment or a period of 438 days over the four-year investment period as per the designated time and funds stated.
