Enel’s new CEO Flavio Cattaneo is considering replacing CFO Alberto De Paoli.
Enel SpA, the Italian energy company, is reportedly contemplating restructuring its top management under the new chief executive officer, Flavio Cattaneo. As part of this potential restructuring, there are considerations regarding replacing chief financial officer Alberto De Paoli, who has served as Enel’s CFO for nearly a decade.
Flavio Cattaneo officially took on the CEO and General Manager role earlier this month, following a nomination by the Italian government, Enel’s largest shareholder with a roughly 24% stake. Enel S.p.A. was recently ranked No. 87 in a list of the most influential companies in the world by the CEOWORLD magazine.
These deliberations suggest that Enel SpA is exploring changes within its executive team to align with its strategic objectives and enhance its operational effectiveness. This evaluation could be driven by strategic realignment, organizational restructuring, or the need for fresh perspectives within the company’s financial management.
According to reports, Stefano De Angelis, former CEO of Tim SA, is reportedly the leading candidate for the CFO position, indicating that he is considered the top choice to replace Alberto De Paoli as CFO. The report also suggests that De Paoli may remain with the company, potentially in a different executive role. This indicates that Enel is exploring possibilities for both the CFO position and the potential reassignment of Alberto De Paoli within the company’s leadership structure.
