The Advantages Of Big Cities
Cities may carry many characteristics that make people have second thoughts about living in them, such as high criminality levels, noise, and traffic. Still, there is a reason why everyone ends up spending their lives there. Even though the countryside has a lot to offer to its residents, today we will focus on the city centers. This article discusses what has attracted so many people to live in crowded city centers, not even thinking about moving to a small town.
- The city is where things happen
If you are a social type of person who likes to be involved in music, theater, and culture, living in a small town may not be the optimal choice for you. A large number of inhabitants creates particular social formations that allow some things to happen. For instance, a famous singer will not go to a village because they will need to sell more tickets. After all, not many people live there, and even if they are, no one guarantees they all listen to that specific type of music. So concerts, plays, art galleries, or even sports events are always organized in the big cities.
Apart from the event, there is also access to numerous activities. A big audience is seeking further opportunities, and cities will go ahead to cover that need. Let’s face it; a big city is usually where things happen after all. - The possibility of meeting new people and embracing diversity
Cities are a home for many individuals, which broadens the options for those who want to meet new people. In the centers, you will have many opportunities to go to parties, hang out at bars, and generally have access to every sophisticated event. Because people do not have to stick together and they can live a more independent life, they also don’t have to be friends with people that they don’t have things in common.
They can feel more free and open to exploring themselves and embracing their diversity. Accepting a part of their personality makes them ready to accept other people who are also different. It is not just about meeting new people but about meeting the right people. To put it simply, there are options, and you have access to them. - Public transportation and access to airports
Travelers also love the cities. First of all, they provide various options on different levels, and they are ideal for learning new stuff. In other words, cities are never dull, and if there is something that travelers hate, it is to feel bored. Public transportation allows citizens to go all over and meet different neighborhoods. In addition, they are most of the time close to airports that can take you to an exotic destination. If traveling is your thing, you may need to reconsider life in the countryside since travel can offer great excitement in someone’s life.
- Job opportunities and high salaries
Last but not least, job opportunities and higher salaries are, for many people, the most significant advantage a city can offer to its residents. If you are a career person, the city is the place where you want to live. A small town may provide other benefits, but if you want to see your career take the road to success and see yourself thrive, cities are roofing all big corporations. Small businesses do not need executives to lead big teams, nor are they in need of CEOs. People who expect to cover these positions will only find them in the crowded city centers or in particular suburban areas, which are still parts of big cities. Places like Palo Alto, close to San Francisco, are home to many big companies. Still, San Francisco has more jobs.
In addition, salaries are higher, which is also related to the higher cost of living. Still, for those who own a house in the city and don’t have to spend half of their salary on rent, the paycheck that goes into their pockets at the end of the month can be quite appealing.
