Most Ultra-Luxury Hotels In Seychelles To Visit This Year

Seychelles

Seychelles is no more a hidden place, its palm-fringed beaches, crystal clear waters, and tropical vibes are attracting holidaymakers of all sorts. It is a group of 115 islands situated in the Indian Ocean and has a plethora of fauna and flora. You will love scuba diving, snorkeling, canoeing glass-bottomed boat, and hiking over the soft sands of these African Islands. Mahe, the capital has an international airport with connectivity to all the major airports. Seychelles is located in the Indian ocean as a part of the African continent and is a beauty of its own.

Once a largely agrarian society, it has excelled significantly in the Human Development Index and is the only African country to have been categorized as a high-income economy. However, what is more, attractive about this country is its tourism industry, which brings much of the revenue to the state.

Tourism is the main highlight of Seychelles, and while many do not count the country as the number one destination on their list, I would ask you to consider visiting it once to decide that for yourself.

5 Things You Must not miss when in Seychelles

There are plenty of things to do on this tiny island country, and for starters, you can try out those things which I have mentioned below.

Vallée de Mai

Seychelles is made of three main islands called Mahé, La Digue and Praslin. In Praslin, there is Vallée de Mai, which is a park designated as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over here, there is everything you would ordinarily expect in a nature park—but, the manner in which the naturalness has been preserved deserves accolades.

The park is home to much endemic flora and fauna such as the island’s palm trees and the island’s black parrot. However, in addition to this, you should also consider visiting the Praslin Waterfall, which is just 5 kilometers from the place. You would get a package of wholesome experience of everything in and around the park.

Visit the Capital

Victoria is the capital city of Seychelles and is located on the largest island, Mahé. Incidentally, Victoria is among the smallest capitals in the entire world, but this does not mean that your trip over here will be short of anything.

Over here, the first thing you will notice is the streets flanked by creole-styled establishments which are typical to the Caribbean region. Once you are inside the city, you can visit the famous clock tower, the bustling Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke market, or Vauxhall Bridge Road. In addition to these, there are many places of worships, which are predominantly Christian. There are also mosques and Hindu temples.

Eden Island

Approximately 4 kilometers from Victoria, Eden Island is an artificial island which was created in the early 2000s. It is one of the most picturesque and serene places to be at, with its crystal-clear, shimmering beaches and bays which are duly protected.

While the natural scenes will be enough for you to have your fill, your comfort will be looked after by many of its hotels and resorts. However, there is a name which deserves special mention, Eden Bleu, which is the most famous hotel on that island. The hotel is situated right next to the Eden Island mall.

Enjoy The Local Cuisine

There is no good trip without tasting the local cuisine. Fish plays an important role in the economy of the nation, and hence, it should not be surprising that you find fish everywhere in its local cuisine.

Despite retaining many traditional cuisines, you will very easily come across dishes that have been greatly influenced by Indian, French, African and British cuisines. Moreover, something you will very commonly experience in local cuisine is the use of many kinds of spices.

Some recommendations to try out include Ladob, shark chutney, saffron rice, bat curry, coconut water, palm wine, Eku beer, and Fruit bat.

Adventure Sports

With all its fancy beaches and bays, you can expect a wide range of adventure sports. Over here, you can experience the best of the seaside and underwater experiences. The place is absolutely gorgeous for scuba diving. There are many spots where you can have the best snorkeling experiences.

If this is what you are not looking for, then you can challenge yourself to rock climbing. Head over to the adventure zone of the Constance Ephélia in Mahé to experience the best rock climbing experience. Or, you can go trekking along the Copolia Trail.
