Spain’s capital has been named as the best-value destination in Europe a weekend getaway, new research has found. Spain’s capital offers high average daily temperatures (14.1°C) and great hotel prices (£48 per night).

A study looked at the prices in 45 European cities taking into account the cost of accommodation, flights, eating out, average temperatures, and the number of free tours on offer, to calculate a score out of ten for each city.

The next four cities rounding up the top five are the colorful hillside harbor city of Lisbon in Portugal, the Greek capital Athens, and Valencia in Spain and Antalya in Turkey.

These are the ten most affordable European city for a weekend getaway.
