It’s interesting to see, out of 200 largest metros, Seattle, WA came in at number 1 on the Forbes 2019 list of best places for business and careers in America. For the 2019 ranking, the magazine also ranked Seattle number 12 for education, number 39 for job growth, and number 162 for the cost of doing business.

Rankings are based on 14 factors related to job growth (past and projected), costs (business and living), income and economic growth, quality of life and the education of the workforce.

With healthy job growth and relatively low costs to live and do business, Dallas, TX ranked number 2 the list. Dallas, TX was also ranked in the top 150 for other categories including 116th in the cost of doing business, 45th in education, and 16th for job growth.

Raleigh, NC, was listed as the third-best city to do business and Denver, CO, came in forth. The next six Best Places for Business and Careers in America were Portland, OR (5th); Provo, UT (6th); Charlotte, NC (7th); Austin, TX (8th); Olympia, WA; and Des Moines, IA (10th). The report ranked the 200 largest cities in America. The metro area that came in dead last was Bakersfield, CA.
