The place has so much to more to offer than just splendid sunsets and sun-kissed beaches. Read on to know more.

Go SCUBA diving

If there is one place to go diving, it is Male. The water here is warm and welcoming; there is no need to put on a wetsuit. Even the visibility here is clear and you get to see sea turtles and whale sharks—now that is something not many people can say they have done!

Additionally, you can choose to indulge in beginner classes if you are not a certified diver. There are classes for first timers and the option of diving to one of the many reefs.

SCUBA diving is regarded as one of the expensive hobbies, but this place is surprisingly affordable. One of the major sources of income for the country is its tourism and thus, Maldives makes sure that the tourists get everything that they want from the place.

Snorkeling

If SCUBA diving is not to your liking, you can experience the ocean without having to go too deep. You can choose to go snorkeling with turtles. The water here at Male is so clear that you can get to see many reefs without having to dive deep.

You can accompany the turtles to their lunch as they munch on the reef. Sea turtles are beautiful creatures with the most beautiful shells that you will ever see. You will also get to see giant flocks of fishes when you are near a reef.

All these sea creatures together almost make you feel like you are in an aquatic garden of your own. Swim with the fishes and you will not even realize when the hours flew by.

Play with Dolphins

If you wish to remain above water during your vacation, then there are dolphins for you. After a dolphin spotting session, you will realize why they are called man’s friend. Take it from me; you will have never seen a livelier collection of sea creatures.

It might take you some time to come across a group of dolphins but once you do, they will interact with you in the most delightful way. They are not scared of human presence but rather fascinated. The sea captains are experienced enough to not chase after them and let them come to you on their own accord.

Visiting nearby villages

If your vacation takes you to a private island then make sure that you hop on a ferry and go visiting the nearby settlements. It is by the life of the people that you actually get to know the place. Male, will bring you close to many local residents.

Take note of the cultural sensitivities of the place and dress in regard to the local custom. Try the local food and interact with the local population to return with a lot of fond memories of the place.

A fun fact about the place is that they use boats as frequently as we use cars in our cities.

Surfing or Stand Up Paddle Boarding

The water is so clear and so calm that you can paddle easily. If you are looking for something more on the adrenalin pumping side, then you can go out surfing. Either way, you will have the most pristine experience.

Most of the islands there are surrounded by clear and shallow water. You can even go for a swim when you feel like it without having to worry about the high tide coming in (though, do keep security measures in check).

Overall, Male, Maldives is the most alluring holiday destination. After your vacation, you will want to stay for even more.
