These states Have The Lowest – And Highest – Percentage Of Unemployed People In The US, January 2019
Alaska posted the highest jobless rate among all states in January at 6.5%, according to seasonally adjusted data released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. District of Columbia (5.4%) and West Virginia (5.2%) posted second and third highest unemployment rate in the United States, respectively.
At the other end of the spectrum, Iowa and New Hampshire posted the lowest unemployment rate among all states in January at 2.4 percent each. North Dakota and Vermont followed 2.5% each.
The table below lists the 50 states of the United States, and the District of Columbia, by their unemployment rate in January 2019.
