45 German Universities Appear In The QS 2019 Rankings, With 12 In The Top 200.

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has been named the 61st best university in the world in the newly released 2019 QS world university rankings. TUM notched up an overall score of 70 out of 100. By coming 61st, the iinstitution is also the 6th best in continental Europe (after ETH Zurich, EPFL Lausanne, the Universite PSL, Delft University of Technology, and the University of Amsterdam.) TUM climbed three spot in the rankings from its No. 64 ranking last year.

Technical University of Munich (TUM) remain the leaders and best among German universities, coming in at No. 1 in Germany, No. 6 in continental Europe, and No. 61 among universities across the globe. In total, 45 German universities appeared in the QS 2019 rankings, with 12 in the 200. A clear reflection of Germany’s status as a european research powerhouse.

The next highest ranked German university was the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München at No. 62, followed by Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, KIT – Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

All the top 4 ranked universities are in the United States – MIT, Stanford, Harvard and the Caltech claimed the top four spots in this year’s rankings.
