HPE Brings Marie Myers from HP to Assume the Role of CFO and EVP

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has appointed Marie Myers, the current Chief Financial Officer of HP, as its new Executive Vice President and CFO. Myers, with over 25 years of finance experience at HP and Compaq, will commence her role at HPE on January 15.

Myers takes over from former HPE CFO Tarek Robbiati, who departed in August to become CEO of RingCentral. Notably, Robbiati recently stepped aside as RingCentral CEO after just three months, replaced by the company’s founder, Vlad Shmunis.

C.R. Howdyshell, CEO of Advizex, a Fulcrum IT Partners company, highlighted the potential for Myers’ appointment to facilitate HPE’s growth through the channel and cited the recent successful AI deal facilitated by HPE HPC (High-Performance Compute and AI) Vice President and CFO Stanley Palmer.  Howdyshell also emphasized the importance of Myers adopting a similar channel-centric approach in her CFO role.

In a LinkedIn post, Myers expressed her enthusiasm about joining HPE, describing it as a return to where her journey began over 25 years ago with the Compaq Server and Storage team.

HP and HPE split into separate entities in 2015, aiming for enhanced focus and agility in their respective markets. Myers’ prior role includes being CFO of HP’s Personal Systems Group from February 2009 to October 2011, overlapping with Antonio Neri’s tenure as vice president of HP’s Personal Systems Group Customer Services from 2004 to 2011.

Antonio Neri, CEO of HPE, praised Myers as a strategic and visionary CFO known for driving financial decisions that foster innovation and performance. With Myers assuming the CFO position, Jeremy Cox, the interim HPE CFO, will return to his role as senior vice president, corporate controller, and chief tax officer, reporting to Myers.

Among Myers’ initiatives at HP was implementing a new single ERP system over five years. Similarly, HPE, under Neri’s leadership, transitioned to a single ERP system as part of its transformation into a cloud services company with HPE GreenLake.
