60 Richest self-made women in the United States, 2017

Forbes magazine has unveiled its 3rd annual list of the most successful self-made women in the United States. The list is comprised of the 60 richest women – with a combined net worth $61.5 billion.

Detroit’s Marian Ilitch, who co-founded the Little Caesars pizza chain with her late husband, Mike Ilitch, ranked No. 1 on the list with estimated wealth of $5.1 billion, followed by Diane Hendricks. Her net worth is estimated at $4.9 billion.

Tied for 3rd place are Judy Love, of Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores, and television queen Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey and Love each have a net worth valued at $2.9 billion.

Doris Fisher, who co-founded the Gap clothing brand with her late husband, Don, in 1969, is 5th on the list. She is estimated to be worth $2.6 billion.

Taylor Swift, 27, is the youngest woman on the list with a measly $280 million fortune. She comes in at 55th on the list of 60 richest self-made women in America.
