Dr. Helmut Love: The Maverick CEO Redefining Leadership with Spirituality and Strategy

Dr. Helmut Love

In a corporate world fixated on profits and productivity, Dr. Helmut Love stands apart. Love is a bold and unconventional CEO. He integrates spirituality, social consciousness, and loving leadership with classic business rigor. His approach isn’t just about breaking the mold—it’s about breaking the boxes that confine human potential.

A One-Love-Christian gay father of three, Love’s unique background informs his leadership philosophy. With a stellar pedigree and a track record of empowering CEOs and executive teams, he operates a complete ecosystem of for-profit and non-profit ventures spanning coaching, education, personal development, and business consulting. His mission is simple: “I break boxes to build humans.”

The Business Secret? Being Gay—Really.

Love attributes his leadership acumen to his dual nature.

“As a two-spirit leader, I possess the feminine mind in the masculine form,” he says. This perspective enables him to navigate leadership with a blend of intuition, emotional intelligence, and strategic acumen. He says this has made him an effective leader in today’s evolving corporate landscape.

Helmut studied biomedical engineering at Texas A&M and later completed an MBA at Kellogg Northwestern MBA. The line from disciplined Eagle Scout to innovating at General Electric for 10 years was a direct one.

While at GE, Love created the world’s first radiology cardiology PACS, generating multi-millions in revenue.  He also created strategic new global market opportunities in Cardiovascular IT  within the company.  David Henriksen , a private equity tech leader and former GE and McKesson executive, adds, “Helmut led some of GE Healthcare’s key international successes, and later built our first web-based primary care EMR at McKesson. His energy, work ethic, expertise, and passion made him a trusted colleague within the executive ranks of our healthcare system”

From 2000 to 2003, Helmut lived in Germany working for GE.  From there he travelled across EMEA and Asia to study and quantify markets. He spearheaded healthcare IT business expansion to the UK and Japan, and ultimately consolidated the company onto a single global cardiology platform.

Though he led several other global innovations in his career, it was in 2016-2018, while working with dbMotion, that his Tel Aviv-based product and service team successfully deployed a single health record system across Israel.   Creating international impact is truly Helmut’s passion.

“Helmut drove a solution strategy for portfolios valued in the hundreds of millions at Nuance, Allscripts, and IBM. He honed his dual-nature working with some of our brightest executive talents.” said Karen Holzberger, CEO of SpintechMRI and former SVP/GM at Nuance.

Breaking Boxes in Business

Love’s guiding philosophy is rooted in authenticity. “The real villains in business are the boxes in our heads—our limiting beliefs,” he explains. “I help leaders break free from these mental constraints, define an aligned vision, and execute it—box-free.”

Helmut went to IBM from 2018 to 2019 to evaluate AI and blockchain investments as he correctly realized that these were two technologies which would drive innovation in this century.  He then took a leap into start-up, and ultimately opened his own consultancy where he has worked with a range of companies on successful exits and growth turn-around.

Love now works with executives and high-net-worth leaders to unlock their full potential using the Personal Excellence Profile assessment that evaluates twelve key life and leadership abilities.  His six-month program fosters radical transformation, and his methods have been lauded by Chloe Taylor Brown, founder and co-creator of the PEP Institute.

“Helmut is mastering the art of education using the Personal Excellence Profile,” she said, “Mastery of self is the foundation of true leadership.”

The Gayly Impact: A Non-Profit with a Mission

Beyond performance metrics, Love believes that businesses must serve a higher purpose. “We are trying to run companies without soul—that’s unnatural,” he asserts. “One Love principles are critical. It’s not just about embracing difference; it’s also about bringing your full, authentic self—including your spirituality—into the workplace.”

Love founded The Gayly Impact in 2023, an Atlanta-based non-profit dedicated to fostering personal and economic development of all humans.  “Like a mosque, synagogue, temple, or church, gays have houses,” Love says. “At our house, no father rejects any child. We demonstrate unconditional love.”

Kim Scouller, Certified Financial Educator and author of How Money Works for Women, credits Love with raising awareness about financial literacy within the gay community. “As a champion for women in finance, it’s a natural evolution to extend that support to all underserved.”

His efforts within his community have drawn the attention of other champions of diversity and politicians as well.  “Atlanta has such a rich and proud history of championing civil and human rights.  As we look to the future, I’m excited for the role The Gayly Impact will play here in my hometown and far beyond.” said City Councilman Matthew Westmoreland in regard to Love’s work.

Atlanta is increasingly one of America’s most diverse communities. With a growing economy and population, the greater urban area is expected to reach a population of 7.9 million by 2050.

Tom Matthews, CEO of Wealthwave and creator of The Money Books, agrees. “Helmut understands that true economic empowerment comes from financial education and personal responsibility.  His efforts to equip individuals with financial literacy and business skills align with the values of self-reliance and long-term wealth creation.”

The Gayly Impact’s economic development programs are structured to cultivate spiritually grounded, service-oriented entrepreneurs.  Creatively, programming is delivered in value-delivering tiers, so recipients that demonstrate merit proceed to the next level of investment.  Love believes philanthropy should not simply focus on wealth redistribution, but do so in ways that transform lives and grow new wealth, for the longer-term benefit of humanity.

The Gayly Impact has delivered two entrepreneurial summits and financial education to its first hundreds and is a registered 501C3.    The NGO plans to expand their reach aggressively in 2025 with efforts that will include in-person engagements to encourage connection and family, funding entrepreneur development programming, as well as senior and veteran wisdom circles.  Love welcomes partnership with any corporations, collaborators or donors,

Rev. Dr. Marian Edmonds-Allen, Executive Director of Parity, supports Love’s vision. “His message aligns with the global movement of gay faith-based leaders calling for spiritual inclusion.”

A Call for Socially Conscious Capitalism

Over the years his friends and colleagues have urged Love to codify and write down his unique vision of leadership.

Love’s forthcoming book, Wake Up to Your Life Magic, amplifies his vision for a new era of business and leadership. “We need a spiritual awakening in global capitalism,” he argues. “My book calls for unity under One Love—where we embrace wealth and happiness in service of a greater good.”

Dr. Helmut Love’s bold leadership is a clarion call to executives, entrepreneurs, and visionaries alike: The future belongs to those who break boxes, embrace love, and redefine success beyond the bottom line.

As Love sees it, the future of business is clear: “When we fully embrace all humans—including gay people—we fulfill the promise of the rainbow. True wealth comes not just from financial success, but from manifesting a world where service, entrepreneurship, and spirituality not only co-exist, but co-create.”
