Iuliia Novitskaia knows how to connect businesses across US

Iuliia Novitskaia

Iuliia Novitskaia, a co-founder and leading logistician of Vantrans LLC, shared with CEOWorld Magazine the history of the company’s creation, prospects, plans for business development, and even some of the secrets of the work.

Iuliia, your company Vantrans LLC is quite young – you are less than 5 years old – but businesses all over the country turn to you with the most complex transport requests. Why do you think Vantrans LLC has managed to gain such high trust from partners? What is the secret?

By the way, we work not only in all 50 US states but also in Canada. So we can safely say that we are trusted with the most complex projects both at the national and international levels. We have developed rapid response schemes, and a proven staff of employees allows us to find people for each project. If necessary, we involve highly qualified mechanics who quickly solve any equipment problems. We lay out routes as safely as possible and at the same time, take into account all the urgent and possible needs of our employees, partners, and clients. If you are asking about secrets, I would not say that there are any. But I like to repeat that we do not just transport goods; we help people and change lives.

How did you get into the trucking business in the first place?

I started working in logistics back in Russia. I am from Vladivostok, and many projects in my career have been related to China. I have always been fascinated by stories about how something that exists at point A can move to point B and change someone’s life. When I worked with China and then in China itself, I was always amazed at how exciting the path of goods to end consumers or between businesses can be. The journey of a single button on a luxury brand jacket can change the entire history of this jacket. I really think about transportation not as something mundane, but as an opportunity to help people and create stories.

For example, we recently had a case at Vantrans when we were contacted about the fastest possible transportation of medical equipment to Canada. And for me, these stories are not just about some piece of iron that needs to be delivered somewhere. These are stories about how we help some people save the lives of others by organizing the delivery of equipment. We also transported part of a drilling rig to Alaska, without which the entire oil production process in that area could have stopped. I love my business for the opportunity to create connections and support vital processes.

Do you have any know-how in your work?

Since we work almost all over the North American continent, at some point it became important for us to come up with a way to quickly sign documents remotely. We are currently in the process of developing an application for electronic document management, which will allow us to create contracts, invoices, reports, and all kinds of lists through the system even faster and more efficiently and store them in a convenient form for future use. This is our project for the future – we are looking for ways to optimize work and develop. At the moment, we are most proud not of any innovations, but of a reliable rapid response team. Vantrans’s main resource is people.

I suppose it was your team’s ability to respond really quickly that contributed to the business community awarding you prestigious The BEST award last year for your contribution to the development of interstate relations…

This is our great pride! Not only mine personally, but ours, because (I will emphasize this once again!) the team is the highest value and the main resource for us. The prize was awarded to me personally, but I perceive it as confirmation of the correctness of the chosen strategy, the essence of which is to create conditions for literally lightning-fast response to the needs of businesses throughout America.

Yulia, what is the current volume of work at Vantrans LLC?

So, well, look, we have about 40 trips a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but on average – 40. That’s about 160 trips a month, and we make almost 2,000 trips a year. In most cases, these are urgent shipments, such as parts without which an airplane won’t take off, or cables without which a concert won’t take place. I’m proud that we’ve managed to create a company that partners across the country and beyond can rely on. We work quickly, and we’re really flexible, which allows us to find an individual solution in any, even the most urgent, situation.
