ArcLight Capital Partners Appoints Joshua Rogol as CEO of Elevate Renewables

ArcLight Capital Partners, a prominent U.S. infrastructure investor, and its Fund VII portfolio company, Elevate Renewables, have announced the appointment of Joshua Rogol as the new CEO of Elevate. Rogol, previously the president of Strata Clean Energy, played a pivotal role in the company’s growth into one of the leading independent domestic battery developers and operators.

Additionally, Eric Cherniss, who served as President of Elevate, has been promoted to Head of Development for ArcLight, reflecting the company’s commitment to advancing its leadership team.

In his new role, Rogol and the Elevate team will focus on expanding their already substantial battery development portfolio while leveraging ArcLight’s extensive power sector expertise. The company aims to explore opportunities in brownfield and data center-related battery development.

In a statement, Rogol expressed enthusiasm about joining Elevate and ArcLight during what he described as a transformative period for the battery storage industry. He highlighted ArcLight’s deep expertise in power infrastructure, emphasizing the company’s ability to deliver tailored and innovative solutions for strategic partners, utilities, hyperscalers, and data center developers.

Since its inception in 2001, ArcLight has owned, controlled, or operated over 65 gigawatts of assets and 47,000 miles of electric and gas transmission and storage infrastructure, representing a total enterprise value of $80 billion. The firm sees significant investment potential in power infrastructure linked to artificial intelligence (AI) and data center development, leveraging its extensive experience and resources to support these sectors.

Angelo Acconcia, a partner at ArcLight, expressed confidence in Rogol’s leadership, noting the anticipated growth in battery storage to meet increasing power demands driven by electrification and AI-related data center expansion. James Sullivan, a director at ArcLight, praised Rogol’s track record in developing large-scale battery portfolios and delivering scalable infrastructure solutions for strategic partners.

Elevate Renewables, ArcLight’s utility-scale battery development team, is strategically positioned across major U.S. power markets to develop and operate battery storage infrastructure. The team currently manages a robust pipeline of over 4 gigawatts of projects while utilizing ArcLight’s vast portfolio of power infrastructure and brownfield development opportunities.

The company is advancing projects in New York, California, and Arizona in collaboration with local utilities, load-serving entities, and regulators, reinforcing its focus on delivering innovative battery storage solutions in key markets.
