Lewis Hamilton Set to Visit Ferrari as Excitement Builds for 2025 Season
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, is scheduled to visit Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters for the first time during the week of January 20th. The visit comes after Hamilton’s move to Ferrari from Mercedes, marking a significant chapter in his storied career. Despite being a part of the Scuderia, Hamilton has yet to tour the iconic Maranello factory or drive at the Fiorano test track.
Hamilton is expected to conduct Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) sessions at Fiorano as part of his integration into the team. These sessions will take place ahead of the official Formula 1 season launch, which is set for February 18th at London’s O2. Ferrari plans to unveil its 2025 car the following morning, with pre-season testing in Bahrain commencing a week later.
Vigna, speaking at a conference in Milan, expressed enthusiasm about Hamilton’s upcoming arrival. He noted that Hamilton, who has been in the United States, will be joining Ferrari as preparations for the new season near completion. Vigna shared that there is significant excitement within the team and a strong desire to begin this new chapter. He emphasized the team’s readiness and called the upcoming changes “beautiful,” indicating optimism about the collaboration.
During his TPC sessions, Hamilton will collaborate with Ferrari’s new race engineer, Riccardo Adami. This follows the reassignment of Hamilton’s longtime Mercedes engineer, Peter Bonnington, who has since taken on a new role with Mercedes’ young driver, Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
As the Scuderia gears up for the 2025 season, Hamilton’s integration into the team marks an exciting milestone for both the driver and Ferrari, with high expectations surrounding this partnership.
