Jumeirah Appoints Thomas B. Meier as CEO and Partners with GROUND Wellbeing
Thomas B. Meier has been appointed as the CEO of Jumeirah Group, where he will lead the company’s ambitious plan to double its portfolio by 2030. With a focus on international growth and reinforcing Jumeirah’s position as a global luxury hospitality leader, Meier brings significant expertise to the role, having recently served as interim CEO. During this time, he played a critical role in guiding the brand through key milestones and will now oversee its Mission 2030 strategy, centered on sustainable growth.
In tandem with this leadership announcement, Jumeirah has revealed a global partnership with GROUND Wellbeing, an Irish skincare brand celebrated for its use of natural ingredients and dedication to sustainable wellness practices. Starting February 2025, GROUND Wellbeing treatments will debut at The Peak Fitness Club & Spa at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London, followed by their introduction at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, one of Dubai’s most anticipated 2025 openings. The collaboration will later expand across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Guests will have access to GROUND’s signature body and skincare rituals, including the globally exclusive Biome Facial at Jumeirah Carlton Tower. Designed for sensitive skin and individuals undergoing chemotherapy, the facial supports the skin’s microbiome. Also exclusive for the first six months will be the Jet Lag Ritual, tailored to nourish and restore balance to the body’s natural circadian rhythm while delivering deep relaxation.
GROUND Wellbeing, founded by Peigín Crowley in Ireland, emphasizes meaningful self-care through its treatments, which address issues like menopause, gut health, sleep, burnout, and cancer care. The brand’s products, including vegan and cruelty-free oils and balms, are crafted using ethically sourced, natural ingredients and incorporate centuries-old botanical knowledge alongside advanced skincare technology. This approach ensures a holistic, toxin-free wellness experience.
Jumeirah’s Vice President of Wellbeing, Niamh O’Connell, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating that the partnership aligns with the company’s focus on natural, holistic wellness offerings. O’Connell noted that the collaboration with GROUND Wellbeing aims to create transformative experiences for guests, promoting a harmonious balance of mind and body.
This dual announcement underscores Jumeirah’s commitment to innovation in leadership and wellness, setting the stage for sustained growth and elevated guest experiences in the luxury hospitality sector.
