Saad Menioui Named CEO of Global Sian Motors as Morocco’s Automotive Sector Gains Momentum

Global Sian Motors, a subsidiary of Bugshan Automotive Group and the exclusive importer of Changan vehicles in Morocco has appointed Saad Menioui as its new CEO. The company attributed his promotion to his significant contributions to the development of the Hyundai brand in North Africa, emphasizing his 14 years of experience and strong foundation in economics.

Menioui, who holds a master’s degree in strategic marketing and commercial management from Mohammed V University in Rabat, previously served as director of network development and brand director at Global Engines before joining Sian Motors.

Since entering the Moroccan market in June 2024, Changan has recorded 500 vehicle sales, according to the company’s statement on Menioui’s appointment. The statement also expressed optimism about Changan’s future, positioning the brand as a rising force in Morocco’s automotive industry.

Morocco’s growing prominence in the global automotive market has been widely recognized. Recent reports highlight the sector’s substantial contribution to the country’s economy. In 2023, Morocco became the top exporter of cars to the European Union, surpassing traditional leaders like China, Japan, and India. Data from the Exchange Office revealed that car exports generated $13.7 billion in revenue that year, a notable achievement given Morocco’s relatively small size compared to established automotive powerhouses.

Industry Minister Riyad Mezzour has frequently highlighted the country’s potential, particularly in electric vehicle production. In November 2024, he predicted that Morocco would emerge as the world’s most competitive and integrated platform for electric vehicle manufacturing, poised to serve both domestic factories and major global players.

With Menioui’s leadership and the expanding opportunities in Morocco’s automotive sector, Global Sian Motors aims to play a pivotal role in shaping the industry’s future while driving economic growth in the region.
