A recent survey by Prosper Insights & Analytics has highlighted a significant increase in jewelry purchases among younger consumers this holiday season. The findings indicate that 30% of individuals aged 18-24 plan to give jewelry as gifts, the highest percentage across all age groups.

This trend reflects a shift in holiday gifting preferences, with jewelry emerging as a favorite category for younger generations. While traditional gifts like clothing and toys remain popular, the growing allure of jewelry underscores the increasing impact of young consumers on retail spending and holiday markets.

The survey also revealed that this tech-savvy demographic is reshaping the gift selection process. Social media platforms are key influencers, with 28% of shoppers in the 18-24 age group turning to TikTok for inspiration, and 27% using Instagram to gather ideas.

Additionally, the report predicts a record-breaking holiday shopping season, with total spending expected to reach between $979.5 billion and $989 billion.
