Wipro: Omkar Nisal is the New CEO of the Europe Strategic Market Unit

Wipro has announced the appointment of Omkar Nisal as the Chief Executive Officer of its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), with his new role taking effect immediately. Nisal will report directly to Srini Pallia, Wipro’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, and will also become a member of the Wipro Executive Board. He takes over from Pierre Bruno, who is stepping down after four years in leadership. Bruno will work alongside Nisal during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover.

Nisal has been with Wipro for over a decade, during which he has earned a reputation as a reliable advisor and an effective leader. His efforts have been crucial in forming high-performing teams and collaborating with clients across multiple industries to advance digital transformation and achieve strong results.

In his previous roles, Nisal led Wipro’s Banking-EMEA division, where he worked closely with financial institutions across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, helping them improve customer experiences and implement AI-driven automation. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, overseeing a business generating over a billion dollars in annual revenue.

Nisal holds an honors degree in Computer Science and is a dedicated technologist with patents in areas like fraud detection, anti-money laundering, and digital channels.

Srini Pallia, Wipro’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director remarked that Nisal’s strategic vision and deep understanding of European market dynamics make him well-equipped to lead the company’s ambitious growth and expansion efforts in the region. Pallia highlighted Nisal’s customer-centric mindset, noting that he is expected to guide Wipro in building a resilient and adaptable organization poised for sustainable regional growth.
