KGeN Secures $10 Million to Empower Gamers with Digital Identity Control

Decentralized gamer network KGeN (Kratos Gamer Network) has successfully raised $10 million in a recent funding round, aiming to empower players with greater control over their digital identities. The new investment will support KGeN’s efforts to expand and develop a gaming economy that places data control in the hands of gamers.

KGeN has outlined its ambition to redefine the game publishing model by creating one that is not only profitable but also more equitable. The company’s priorities include advancing data management capabilities, strengthening collaborations with game developers, and enhancing reward systems for players.

The network’s focus is on bringing micro-gaming communities in emerging markets into the web3 ecosystem. KGeN operates in several regions, including India, Brazil, Nigeria, Southeast Asia, and MENA.

The funding round was spearheaded by Aptos Labs, with additional investments from Polygon and Game7. To date, KGeN has raised a total of $30 million, positioning the company at a valuation of $500 million.

Aptos Labs CEO Mo Shaikh emphasized the significance of KGeN’s mission, noting that in an industry where gamers often lack influence, KGeN is offering genuine ownership over digital identities. Shaikh highlighted Aptos Labs’ support for KGeN’s efforts to establish a new benchmark for data ownership and usage.

Manish Agarwal, a member of KGeN’s elder council, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with investors who share the company’s vision of transforming gaming and data ownership. He pointed out that Aptos Labs’ background at Meta equips them with unique insights into community building and data utilization, which aligns with KGeN’s goal of shifting data control to users. Agarwal added that the collaboration will facilitate the scaling of KGeN’s multi-chain POG engine.
